This AAMI Level 3 PPE is made with Stedair® TX L3, a high performance medical barrier laminate for added protection from toxic fluids while maintaining breathability. They are highly durable and have been tested to 100 wash, day and sensitization cycles. Because of its ability to be reused, you'll find your “per use” cost as affordable as its Level 1 disposable counterparts.

WASHING RECOMMENDATIONS

Inspect washing equipment to be sure that there is no sharp object which could damage the fabric
Do not overload the washer; 75-80% of the capacity is optimal
Use NFPA 1851 compliant laundry detergent
Temperature should not exceed 140ºF for washing operations
For disinfecting use NFPA 1851 compliant laundry sanitizer
Tumble dry or air dry (do not exceed 140ºF air temperature)
Do not iron
Do not use Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach)
If using steam sterilization (autoclave) temperature should not exceed 270ºF

Can Isolation Gowns Be Reused?

There are many types of isolation gowns; some are disposable, others are reuasable.

Disposable gowns are NOT made to be washed and can cross contaminate other surfaces if reuse is attempted.

Reusable gowns are made with specialized fabrics that are engineered to safely and effectively remove bloodborne pathogens, liquids and toxins when properly cleaned.

Our Isolation gowns are made with Stedair® TX L3 which was clinically-tested to ensure that wash and dry cycles effectively remove toxins without deteriorating the barrier protection.

How Do I Wash Reusable Isolation Gowns?

What is the Difference Between Level 1, 2, 3 Isolation Gowns?

Isolation Gowns come in various levels of protection. Below is a quick breakdown:

Level 1 Isolation Gowns:
Minimal risk, to be used, for example, during basic care, standard isolation, cover gown for visitors, or in a standard medical unit
Level 2 Isolation Gowns:
Low risk, to be used, for example, during blood draw, suturing, in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or a pathology lab
Level 3 Isolation Gowns:
Moderate risk, to be used, for example, during arterial blood draw, inserting an Intravenous (IV) line, in the Emergency Room, or for trauma cases
Level 4 Isolation Gowns:
High risk, to be used, for example, during long, fluid intense procedures, surgery, when pathogen resistance is needed or infectious diseases are suspected (non-airborne)
